A hand- written comment in the Medical Examiner's report referred to 'MI' - medical shorthand for myocardial infarction, the technical term for a heart attack. He claimed the doctor had put on 4st 4lbs because of water- retention. Before that, said Mr Trager, Dr Atkins was a robust, active man who frequently played competitive tennis.
